Mr. Jast, a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, started his career in 1992, as a consultant with CAI Corporate Affairs International (CAI). CAI is a consulting practice specializing in site selection analysis, jurisdictional marketing, and industrial clustering. Mr. Jast was appointed Director, Strategic Development in 1995, responsible for the company's Corporate Development team. Mr. Jast was appointed Executive Vice President at CAI in 2001, and oversaw the creation of the ROI Research on Investment division, a provider of original research on investment trends by geographic region and industrial sector.

In February 2004, Mr. Jast announced the spin-off of ROI and has been acting as the company's President since that time. Mr. Jast has led the company from a staff of 2 to a global company with over 60 employees and 60 clients served. Mr. Jast has been recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist for 2008 and Profit Magazine has listed ROI as one of Canada's 50 fastest growing companies for 2007.
